Everything we can tell you right now about PhantomVR, how it works, and what PhantomTech Labs is building. Don't see your question? Send it over.
PhantomVR is a virtual reality experience that brings mirror therapy, a technique that's helped people manage phantom limb sensations for decades, into VR. Put on a headset, and see a full-body reflection that mirrors your intact side in real time.
Mirror therapy uses a reflection to help the brain recognize a limb that's no longer there. It's an established technique, not something we invented. PhantomVR brings that same idea into virtual reality instead of a physical mirror box.
No. PhantomVR is a wellness tool, not a medical device, and we won't make treatment claims we can't back up. It's a calm, well-made tool for practicing an established technique in a new way.
PhantomVR is being built from the ground up for VR, designed to work across the major headsets rather than locked to a single platform. We'll confirm exact supported devices as we get closer to launch.
Amputees. You choose your limb and your amputation level to start, and PhantomVR mirrors your intact side, or uses a guided walkthrough if you're unable to use the controllers, so you can see yourself whole no matter your amputation level.
Yes. Arm & hand mode is already in development, extending PhantomVR beyond legs with mirrored arm and hand support. Follow the devlog for progress.
We're building PhantomVR Clinic for therapy offices, prosthetist offices, and clinics running multiple patients, with HIPAA-compliant handling built in from the start.
There's no firm launch date yet. A preview is coming soon, sign up on the homepage to be notified as it gets closer.
Not yet. A short demo clip will be added once there's something ready to show. The devlog is the best place to watch progress in the meantime.
Pricing hasn't been announced yet. We're aiming to make PhantomVR accessible to everyone who could benefit from it, and we'll share details as launch gets closer.
