A short, dated log of how PhantomVR actually comes together, from the first idea to whatever's next. No polish, just progress.
The idea for PhantomVR came from lived experience, not a whiteboard. Mirror therapy has helped people manage phantom limb sensations for decades, and the question that stuck: what if that mirror could be virtual, full-body, and built around the way amputees actually move? That question is where everything else started.
PhantomTech Labs was officially founded, built on the idea that technology should start with the people it usually leaves out. Work began the same month on PhantomVR, the company's first product, turning the original concept into something that could actually be built, tested, and eventually put in front of people.
An early development demo mode of PhantomVR is now in the testing phase. It's still early, and the goal of this stage is to learn what works and what needs to change before it's ready to be shown.
Continued testing of the demo mode. Once it's ready to show, it'll land here first, along with the short demo clip we're holding off on until then.
